The Hook
- AGES: 2-9
- RUN: 45 minutes
- GENRE: Musical, Comedy
- SEL | Identity, Belonging & Emotional Growth
- LEVEL OF ENGLISH: A2
Peter Pan has lost his shadow while listening to Wendy tell fairy tales to her brothers in the nursery. When he tries to find it, Wendy wakes up and meets him. Peter would like Wendy to fly with him to Neverland and become his mother. She agrees to go with him, but little does she know that her life will be in danger when she crosses paths with Tiger Lily, the Tribal Princess, and Captain Hook, Peter’s archenemy— all while dealing with a very jealous Tinker Bell. With fairies in a mood and pirates on the loose, things in Neverland can get delightfully out of hand!
Hook has been after Peter ever since he cut off his hand and threw it to a giant crocodile. Fortunately, the animal had swallowed an old alarm clock, so every time we hear tick-tock, tick-tack… it means the croc is back, and Mr. Smee can defend the Captain. Catchy songs, silly chases, and comic chaos keep young audiences laughing all the way to the curtain call.
Peter’s naivety is mirrored in Hook’s agony as Time chases one but neglects the other. Between songs, sword fights and fairy dust, The Hook reminds us that growing up doesn’t mean losing our sense of wonder — it simply changes where we find it.
